  • ABSTRACT
  • Information and communications technology (ICT) incubator is the most rapidly growing segment of technology incubators. It provides low-cost means for developing countries to jump start their knowledge economies. Initiatives are currently underway to transform Saudi Arabia into a knowledge-based economy and society. Establishing a series of national technology incubators in Saudi Arabia is a part of this initiative and national technology business incubator program (BADIR) has been established by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) for this purpose. BADIR-ICT is the first technology incubator established by KACST in collaboration with Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to stimulate the development of ICT companies in Saudi Arabia. This paper presents a three-tier service model for BADIR-ICT incubator in Saudi Arabia. The incubation process and the business model adopted by the BADIR-ICT incubator are also presented.
